“I love being pregnant! I wanted to be a Surrogate for years but had no idea where to start or how to go about it. Alberta Surrogacy has helped me assist a wonderful couple in France! I love my Intended Parents and have really enjoyed getting to know them. They even came to visit me here in Edmonton!
I have my transfer next week and I have really enjoyed my experience so far!”
“Thank you, Nathan! You have been a great support to me and also a friend. I don’t know how you do it! Every time I need you, I am always able to reach out either to you or my support worker. My Intended Parents and I cannot stop talking about how we are pretty sure you never sleep!
Don’t stop changing the world!”
“I did a lot of research when selecting an agency to support me on my surrogacy journey. [Alberta Surrogacy] was the most thorough of all the agencies I spoke to. I love Nathan’s authenticity and have felt respected and understood by everyone I have interacted with thus far.
I am really looking forward to finding the right Intended Parents and starting my surrogacy journey!”
Frequently Asked Questions
Isn't it difficult to give up a baby after carrying it for nine months?
Our Surrogates describe seeing their Intended Parents holding the baby for the first time as “incredibly fulfilling” and “the greatest feeling”.
When becoming pregnant for Surrogacy, you carry a child that is not related to you and know that you are nurturing the little one for deserving, loving parents.
Can I become a surrogate if I have had a tubal ligation?
Yes, your fallopian tubes and eggs will not be used for the surrogacy IVF process. An embryo will be placed in your uterus that is not genetically linked to you in any way. This is called gestational surrogacy.
Do I need to be married or common law to be a surrogate?
We do not discriminate against potential Surrogate Mothers based on relationship status. You can be single, married, common law, or dating.
Do I need to have children of my own to become a Surrogate?
Yes.To become a Surrogate Mother you should have given birth at least once before. It does not matter if you gave birth vaginally or by cesarean section.
Do I get paid to be a Surrogate?
Surrogacy in Canada is altruistic. This means that Surrogate Mothers do not receive an income for the pregnancy. You will, however, have all of your surrogacy related expenses reimbursed.
